Welcome to the Irvine Virtual Academy at San Joaquin.

First Day of School

The first day of school for all full-time IVA students is Thursday, August 18th.  On the first day of school we will be meeting in ADVISEMENT ONLY to complete an orientation and ensure that all students have a successful start.  Students will attend from 9:36-10:36 am and will have the rest of the day to complete school business. 

Before your student starts:

Please check out our Video Instructions and copy of presentation. Step by step instructions as well as Frequently Asked Questions/Errors are also included below:

  • Complete the IUSD Zoom Authentication Process (NEW process this year!)

    • This allows us to keep our Zoom classrooms safe and secure

  • Log into Canvas to find the Advisement class on the dashboard

    • This course will not be available until Thursday, August 18th at 6:00am

    • The Zoom Link for your student’s Advisement class is located on the Homepage of their Advisement Course.

As of Thursday, August 18, Office Hours (tech support) will be available Monday-Friday morning starting at 7:30am on Zoom for any support needed.   

Frequently asked questions or errors:

  • I can’t log in to Canvas.

  • Why can’t I see my classes in Canvas?

    • Your Advisement class will be visible on your dashboard starting on August 18th at 6:00am.  All other classes should be visible starting 8/18 at 10:30am.

  • I can’t log in to Zoom OR it’s asking me for a meeting ID and passcode?

    • Students should use their IUSD Chromebook to access classes  

    • Students need to log into their IUSD authenticated Zoom account in order to access class: IUSD Zoom Authentication Process (NEW process this year!)

    • If students are logged into Zoom correctly, they will not need a meeting ID or passcode for class

  • Where do I find my schedule?

    • Your schedule is available on Parent Portal

    • Students will attend ADVISEMENT ONLY on the first day of school (Aug 18)

  • Why can’t I see my schedule in Parent Portal?

    • You must complete the Data Confirmation Process (including Residency and submission of the Master Agreement) for IVA before your student can attend class.  If you have not completed Data Confirmation or Residency, please contact (949) 936-7400.

  • Where is the Zoom Link for class?  How do I attend class?

    • The Zoom Link for all IVA classes can be located on the Homepage of each Canvas course:
